Guest Artist: Gremlins Duo - Tim Fitzgerald and Jon Goodman, clarinet
8:15 PM - 9:15 PM

Humanities Building

GremlinsDuo was founded to promote the 20th and 21st century works already written for clarinet or bass clarinet duo, and to commission new works for duo instrumentations that change within the piece.

This recital focuses on works written for us. "New Columbia/Big Bay" was written by our mutual friend, John McCowen, a self-taught avant-garde classical and jazz woodwind player and composer from Southern Illinois. "New Columbia/Big Bay" duet for two Bb clarinets combines the use of pelog scales, commonly used in Gamelon music, and a jazz scatting feel.
