Empty Bowls Glazing Workshop
1:00 PM - 4:00 PM

Come to the library to glaze some bowls!

At our bowl making workshop on Jan. 17, UWG students, faculty, and staff made 67 bowls for Empty Bowls!  They have been fired and are ready for us to glaze!  Volunteers will also bring additional bowls from other events for those who want to glaze but weren't able to make a bowl.  The bowls will be donated to the Carroll County Empty Bowls event in February. We'll provide the fired bowls, glaze, and instructors, you get to have fun coloring and help fight hunger!

The main Carroll County Empty Bowls event will be held on Sunday, February 26, 2012, 11a.m. to 2p.m. at the Carroll County Ag Center. Proceeds go to the Carroll County Soup Kitchen. For more information, visit Carroll County Empty Bowls

About Empty Bowls:
Empty Bowls is an international grassroots effort to fight hunger. The basic premise is simple: Potters and other craftspeople, educators and others work with the community to create handcrafted bowls. Guests are invited to a simple meal of soup and bread. In exchange for a cash donation, guests are asked to keep a bowl as a reminder of all the empty bowls in the world. The money raised is donated to an organization working to end hunger and food insecurity -- in Carroll County, the money goes to the Carroll County Soup Kitchen.
